Norwich Tech Sponsors Peace Pole at Brown Park

Tuesday, September 19, 2017

Thank you to 10th grader and Rotary's Norwich Tech Interact member, Amber Cassidy for accepting the NT certificate commemorating the NT sponsored Peace Pole, which was dedicated yesterday in Brown Park given by the Rotary District Governor.

The Peace Poles have the message MAY PEACE PREVAIL ON EARTH, with 8 different languages spoken in Norwich on each of the poles. The Mayor of Norwich presented a Proclamation designating Norwich as an International Peace City and our State Senator presented a citation in recognition of the work our city, Rotary, and other community groups have done to promote non-violent conflict resolution within our community. Norwich made history yesterday for being the 1st International Peace City in Connecticut
