The Connecticut Technical High Schools follow the same schedule as the other schools in their town for delayed openings or cancellation due to weather conditions. Students coming to a tech school from surrounding towns must depend on their town’s transportation system to deliver them to the school.

Bus transportation is provided for your student by the town that you reside in. 2 hour delay – Homeroom starts at 9:15 a.m.

Some town policies vary regarding transportation for delayed openings. It is strongly recommended that you contact your town’s Board of Education to clarify their transportation procedures for delayed openings. Student absences will be unexcused if the sending town provided transportation.

School delays and cancellations are listed on the following TV stations as well as online:  WFSB,  NBCConnecticut, WTNH, FOXCT
School delays and cancellations are also announced on the following radio stations: WRCH, WTIC, WNLC, WKNL, WILI, WCTY, WICH

Your student will be picked up at their normal pick up time and dropped off at Norwich Tech. There will be staff available to supervise students that arrive early.

Your student will be picked up at his/her bus stop 90 minutes later than their normal pick up time.

Your student will be picked up at his/her bus stop 2 hours later than their normal pick up time.

If the town you live in has cancelled school due to inclement weather your student will be excused from school for that day. If Norwich Tech is in session and the student wishes to come to school it is the responsibility of the parent to provide transportation to and from school on that day.

The sending town will notify Norwich Tech that they are sending a bus to pick up their students. Students will be released to their bus when it arrives.

Norwich Tech would contact all the sending towns to inform them of the early dismissal. In most cases the sending towns are dismissing early as well. Early dismissals are typically at noon.
