Norwich Tech Soars at DECA Nationals, Brings Home Gold

Eight Norwich Technical High Schools students travelled to Nashville, Tenn. to attend DECA’s international career development conference held April 22 – 27. The chapter earned nine competitive areas for obtaining recognition for SBE; their Thrive Campaign; and state competition events.

The students are members of the Marketing, Management and Entrepreneur trade program and include Jasmine Loy Smith, a junior and DECA’s recently-elected national vice president of Community Development, who competed in the Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan; senior Connor Longwill competed with juniors Lauren Russi and Chantele Alford, in the School Based Enterprise Retail competition under the Selling category. Sophomores Daisy Rios and Janelis Lugo joined Katie Pescatello, a junior, attended the Thrive Leadership Academy based on their score at DECA states. Mateo Cort, competed in the Professional Selling competition.

The students also accepted the SBE gold certification plaque on behalf of Norwich Tech.
